Christmas 2017 illustration (alien encounters, abductions etc.)

Encounters I.
Digital illustration, Photoshop, oil pastels and found textures. 2017. No, no, no, my eerie obsession with vintage 60's alien iconography is not overt at all

"Cyprus, the City of Utopia" International Poster Competition

This was one fantastic and inspiring evening (10/03/2017) at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (Nicosia), where the first international poster competition "Cyprus, the City of Utopia" was held.

A big 'thank you' to the jury for shortlisting my illustration among the top 10 posters of the competition, as well as to the Graphic Stories Cyprus, an organisation promoting the professional conduct and creative development of graphic arts in Cyprus, for organising this superb event.

Logo Revamp

So excited having the time and inspiration to revamp my promotional logo. It always feels nice working with typography. Nonetheless, this logo has proven to be a rather good graphic design exercise for keeping me on my toes. Scanned charcoal and canvas textures, PS.

My aim here was to redefine my visual branding; a successful logo should be able to disseminate the creative's current essence – the gist of one's work if you like. A logo to a portfolio is what an abstract to an essay is.

Alternative Stuff / Digital & Traditional Representational

May I introduce you to my artistic alter ego, a gulf apart from my
contemporary stuff indeed. This post is dedicated to all things
                                                                representational.
This one was painted during my first MA in Art History, Baroque
infulences are profoundly obvious I guess!
                                                            Photoshop CS4. 2012

Photoshop CS5. 2013 / Those bad ass lions actually are free standing statues in-front of
                                                               Nottingham's City Hall.

Here's a charcoal study I made prior to the digital final. 2013

I always had a soft spot for the transcending atmosphere of Winchester Cathedral. Finally, was given the chance to record the visual stimuli in detail. Photoshop CS5. 2014

No muppet was hurt for the endeavours of this portrait. Charcoal on paper. 2014

2011 Magnum Opus

/This particular illustration sums up the culmination of my  academic endeavors in illustration at the Winchester School of Art; the child of countless experiments and visual dead-ends throughout my studies in the quest of a personal visual language. Work was eventually picked for the final uni. exhibition and London show, June 2011./

A blast from the past

Old sketches, old glories -mostly works from the uni. days/ random doodling
